Life without Limits

My two days downtime last Wednesday & Thursday weren't so bad after all, come to think of it, cuz I managed to read two books i.e. Limitless by Nick Vujicic and Wallace D.Wattles, The Science of Getting Rich.

The highlight this evening is on Nick Vujicic who is an author of bestseller Unstoppable and Life Without Limits. To me, he's an exceptional guy, a man whom less than perfect physically but perfect mentally, emotionally and spiritually. When I read about his experience and how he tries to relate his experience to motivate and inspire people, I get what he's trying to say.

So, in this lil'b log of mine, I'm gonna share things that appealed to me in Limitless by Nick Vujicic that gave me sorta' an impact. Among other things were:

  1. What would it be like to be free from all the limitation that you've place in your life and what would your life be if anything is possible?
  2. Stay in the game - whatever life challenges you're facing, stay focused on your dream. Do whatever it takes to stay in the chase. Go after whatever it is your desire.
  3. Life isn't about having, it's about being.
  4. Radiate good feelings that others can actually perceive.
  5. Negative thoughts and emotions can overwhelm you and rob you of perspective.
  6. Keep moving ahead because action creates momentum which in turn creates unanticipated opportunities.
  7. Have faith. Your story is still waiting to be unfold & it will be incredible.
  8. Blessing in disguise - if you choose the right attitude and gain proper perspective, you can rise above whatever challenge you face!
  9. Dare to give it a go and to soar as high as your imagination take you. You can expect challenges. Welcome them as character building experience.
  10. We all experience downtime especially when lack of sleep, illness and other challenges that makes us vulnerable. No one is perky 100% of the time. Don't let your emotion control your action. When you detect negative thoughts through your mind - hit the OFF switch.
  11. The quality of your relationship has a huge impact on the quality of your life so treat them as precious.
  12. Step back and look at the big picture. Remember you are often tested but life itself is not a test, it's the real deal. The decisions you make everyday impact the quality of your entire life . Assess carefully and then check your gut and your heart. If your gut tells you something's a bad idea, go with your gut. But if your heart tells you to leap at an opportunity and it's aligned with your values and long term goal, make the leap!
  13. Fear breeds fear, worry builds upon worry. Don't let your emotion dictate your action.
  14. If you create in your imagination the life you wanna live, it is then possible to create it minute by minute, hour by hour and day by day in reality.
  15. Love each other as if its your last day on this earth.
I'm gonna put all these in my journal, which I have, so that every now & then I could flip through it every time I need a lil' words to keep my spirit high :)

Till then, love you peeps!

Happy Weekend!

First of all, gosh i love the pic above… it suits the beach-mood I’m feeling. This past week has been like a roller coaster, believe me it has. A few days of a productive days baking & delivering the goodness to my beloved customers & friends and followed by a few days of downtime. Today is Saturday and it’s officially a weekend to most people. To me, a home baker, weekend or weekday is actually the same cuz everyday is weekend to me ;)
I’m trying to keep my spirit high actually cuz the past two days was not so happy-days for me. Then last night I got a text message from my sis-in law telling me that her friend wanted to order an Oreo cheese cake to be delivered to her husband on Monday. Hmmm…my motivation meter started to raise a bit :) Then this morning, I logged on to my Facebook and my ex-colleague sent  me a message to order a cake for my ex-boss whom are certainly not a sweet tooth. So I figured out I’ll bake a fresh fruit flan cake with a cherry top. And with that to start my day….I realised how I could turn any bad day to a good day. I just gotta bake!! Period. I really gotta ingrain this in my mind the next time I start to feel all grumpy & moody.
Then, I started to browse through the net to get some inspiration for my next bake off. Here are the pics that really captured my eyes. Credit to those who actually baked this and took great pics!

Okay, I’m gonna go and get ready to buy those ingredients for the cakes I’m baking tomorrow. Till then, keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars!

Cakes Creation

My Creations

Over the past few months, I've been baking, decorating and delivering my cakes creation for Lil' haven.
Some of it I may say that I'm proud of myself that I stepped up to the challenge of being a better baker than I was before. But still...i have loads to learn and improve. I wanna do so much more, gosh believe me I do and I MUST.

These are some of my creations for my beloved customers & friends..

Well, these are just some of it.. Through these experience I met few new customers who knew bout my cakes through words of mouth from their friends & family. I'm so glad that they liked & loved the cakes...not so much on the deco yet but on the taste and it gives me great pleasure knowing that my cakes that I baked myself actually taste good ;) It means so much to me as a self-thought baker. For Goodness sake, I was an auditor by profession back then and now here I am...a baker! A very close friend once passed a remarks bout my new profession..."you got a Bach in Accounting and at the end you end up in the kitchen!" It was a harsh remarks in my opinion but the thing is this is my passion...baking, decorating the cakes, making people happy with my creation and making new friends....this is my passion. The only thing now is i have to get my passion to a higher level and that is to reopen my bakery & cafe and makes it one of the famous one in KL, God willing...

As for now, I just have to brace myself through the challenge I have to face, buck up, upgrade my knowledge & skills, make more friends & customers and live life.

Wish me luck!

Love

Tonight I feel like talking about...love. I'm in this lovey doovy mood after watching the Twilight movie for I dunno how many times. I am a big fan of the Twilight saga movies which I know may sounds so outdated. But what the hack... and as I'm writing... I'm listening to one of the songs in the movie - Flightless Bird, American Mouth, which is so addictive...

I've been in love once or twice in my life for the wrong reasons and persons but I could perfectly imagine myself being in love if that someone is like Edward Cullen in the Twilight movie ;) But honestly speaking, cud someone be so protective and so much in love the way Edward felt towards Bella? Does that kinda love exist...cuz their love seems so pure and intense. In my wildest imagination, if that kinda love does exist and if i could have it, I'm pretty sure I'll be so blessed. Apart from my love towards my mom & dad , having someone that I could fall in love with everyday of my life till my dying day surely will complete my life, or anyone for that matter. If only all marriages were to have this kinda love, wouldn't it be great..then, my dad wouldn't have left my mom for someone else. But i know, we are living in a real world where the reality is pure love seems to exist only in movies. I might be wrong but based on my surroundings, it seems to be that way. I rarely meet a couple who deeply loves the other half.

Well, i never really stop hoping that someday...someone...someplace... this "Twilight kinda love" will be mine :)

Gud nite to all love-birds out there...love & live...

Inspiration...

I did something today...

I finally find the "mood" to do something today and i.e. to update my Facebook page with useful update. It seems as if it took years for me to do it.

Its raining outside and it seems like a perfect weather for me to restart my blog. This past few days my sis and me made cookies to kick start our business venture in the name of survival. My sis made a Honey Cornflakes with almond nibs and I made Crunchy Choc Cornflakes of which I will share the pics & recipe in my next blog. Today is just about....writing.

I haven't really been as productive as I should be since our bakery & cafe was closed last March 2013. I'm trying to find a decent job which commensurate with my qualification and experience but guess what... After applying for almost 20 jobs via Jobstreet..I was turned down by all of'em. I didn't nail any job interview. It sucks!! I felt so down..i felt worthless and almost hopeless. But and again, deep down in my heart... I guess I didn't really wanna go back to the mundane 9 to 5 kinda job.

Today, i wanna make a promise to myself that I will do something worthy everyday so that everyday I would accomplish something with the hope that I could make it up to all my past failures and mistakes. And I will write it down in my special notebook of those small daily accomplishment as a reminder of my journey towards financial freedom, success and ultimate happiness in life.

Luv,
Sue

Living: Irfan Khairi - worthy to know

I can't believe I actually read these magazine (mag) IK (Inspirasi Kejayaan) by this guy - Irfan Khairi. I make a point to finish reading all 9 issues of the mag in a day! All this while I'm a bit skeptical bout Malaysian motivator/ writer but my sis is the reason I'm reading it. Juz wanna see whether it make sense...well I can say, not bad. I did get some good insights and gave me ideas.

After the closure of my one & only Lil' Haven Bakery & Cafe at Centrio, I was literally devastated. I see it coming but I wasn't ready or rather prepared for it. I've lost my direction all of sudden. But when I stumbled upon the quotes by the late Steve Jobs "Sometimes life hits you hard in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith" (ref. IK vol.I)... I started to really have faith in my dreams and destiny, no matter where it takes me. Life is after all to be lived and live happily.

In memory...

13.3.13 marked the end of my one & only Lil' Haven Bakery & Cafe at Centrio, Pantai Hillpark. It took 4 months for us to establish the bakery & cafe to its physical existence but u know what... it took less than a week for it to vanish. No regrets...only sadness.
